The Boys U12 went off to Tunbridge Wells HC yesterday to what they thought would be a nice easy time, having been before Christmas. However, instead of the B league teams, both RTW and Brombecks brought out their top A teams, no doubt in preparation for next weekend! So a bit of a shock for all (reverse stick hits to the top of the goal, amazing stick skills etc), which meant the boys were a little slow off the mark in the first game against RTW 1s. Had this been their last game of the 3, I think it would have been a different result. As the games went on, all the boys really stepped up to their next level, beating RTW 2 and giving Brombecks, who were really strong (and big boys), a good game which isn’t reflective of the score, as we had several shots at goal. Attacking short corners and team work were a real strength which we should make the most of in future games!
The tough matches were great preparation for the Kent Champs next week, as the boys now know what they are up against and I’m sure will do us all proud!

SV v RTW 1 1-3 scorer Chris
SV v RTW 2 3-0 scorers, Alex D, Chris and Ewen
SV v Brombecks 0-3

Next Sunday we are off to the Kent Championships which will be all day, due to the huge number of teams playing, more details to follow.
