SVHC Under 12 Girls have had a great season. All the girls can be proud of how well they have progressed this season as individuals and as a team.

The pace of the games was fast and opponents skill level was high. There was a lot of powerful long passing and individuals taking on opponents. Each match was only ten minutes long leaving little time for Sutton Valence to get their passing game going and we were aware this left few chances to score so pushed forwards.

The girls started strong with a 1-0 win over Gillingham. - (A strong goal by Charlotte Farrell.)

The second game was another strong win for Sutton Valence - 2-0 over T Wells B ( Goals from Maisie Rixon and again Charlotte Farrell)

SVHC lost the third match - 2-0 to Canterbury As. SVHC were caught on the break twice by a very strong and fast right winger from Canterbury As. Canterbury A's went on to win the tournament overall in a penalty shootout against Marden (who were also in our group).

The fourth match was a short corner trial as we faced 5 short corners from Sevenoaks, who scored three to win 3-0.

The fifth game was against Marden, who played good team hockey. It was a close game and could have gone either way but Marden scored a late goal and win 1-0

The final group stage match was against Brombecks who again scored two goals past us from short corners. 2-0

SVHC finished on a high with a 2-0 win over Canterbury Bs (goals from Maisie Rixon and Sophie Lee)

Results:

SVHC - Gillingham - Won 1-0

SVHC - T Wells - Won 2-0

SVHC - Canterbury A - Lost 0-2 (Canterbury won overall)

SVHC - Sevenoaks B - lost 0-3

SVHC - Marden - Lost 0-1 (Marden came runners up overall - losing to a penalty shootout with Canterbury)

SVHC - Brombecks A - Lost 2-0

5th place playoffs

SVHC - Canterbury B - Won 2-0

Thanks to all the parents for supporting on another cold day, and thanks to all the girls, well done and I hope you have all enjoyed today and the season as a whole.

See you at training next Sunday 29th March

Thanks

Ben
