U10s Undefeated at Folkestone

U10s add some fireworks at Folkestone Triumvirate

U10s Mixed visited Folkestone on 5th Nov in a club triumvirate competition. These are great tournaments to let the young players understand competition, match play and test their skills against other players/clubs in a half pitch game format and played 7mins each way.

Maidstone 0 – 5 Sutton Valence
Sutton Valence started the brighter of the two teams and put Maidstone under pressure which resulted in Sutton Valence opening the scoring through Rachel Farrell. Good work from Evie Smith in midfield enabled Sutton to extend their lead to three nil at half time. The second half Valence again dominated and two further goals from Edward Chantler and Evie Smith complete a five nil win for the opening game. MOM: Evie Smith

Folkestone Ferrets 0 – 3 Sutton Valence
Folkestone's team were lucky to be complete with a goal keeper which was going to make scoring much harder. Valence started well with Niamh Ainsworth, Imogen Johnson and Flora Hay breaking down the Folkestone’s attacks. Valence continuously attacked the Folkestone goal and broke the deadlock though Rachel Farrell. Valence pressure continued but they were unable to increase the score line before halftime. Second half Valence changed their formation which produced a two further goals from Evie Smith and Rachel Farrell with the score remaining three nil Valence won their second game of the tournament. Folkestone Flamingos 2 – 3 Sutton Valence
Valence went into this game with huge amount of enthusiasm having won their opening two matches. Folkestone put Valence under pressure in the early exchanges but Josie Parker, Matilda Lee, Emelia Gronow and Thomas Green worked well together to prevent Valence conceding an early goal. Nathan Calverly scored the opening goal for Valence through a breakaway attack. From the restart Valence quickly took control of the game and scored their second goal through Evie Smith to make the score line two nil at halftime. Folkestone started the second half well but Valence relentless hard work enable, Nathan Calverly to score valence's third goal. Folkestone refused to give up and brought the score line back to three two for a nail biting finish but the final whistle came moments too early for Folkestone and Valence complete three wins out of three.
