1st Xl - Cold stops the Valence embers igniting
Kent & Sussex Regional 1
Burnt Ash 1st Xl 7 : 1 Sutton Valence 1st Xl
Cold stops the Valence embers igniting…
As we arrived with petrol station sausage rolls and cans of Red Bull, it felt like a classic SV away game. Our pre-match talk was on point as ever, giving us time to conclude that our away kit was just as bad as the dodgy area we were in. The match kicked-off with good pace and we were able to hold our own, giving the opportunistic Fred McV to bang one in through a tight defence. Lewis Mitchell was providing a great distraction by luring the eyes of the opposition as he suggestively rolled around on the floor at the first hint of any contact. Despite their continuous rolling subs and rowdy input from their supporters, we were able to finish the first half at 1-1.
Unfortunately the weather took a turn for the worse at half-time and began to feel like acupuncture from a poorly trained Vietnamese girl. Their team of numbers ended up getting the better of us, resulting in Sutton Valence being unable to take the win.
There were no match teas, but the chilli dipping chicken back at QH was above average.
Goal: Fred McVarish
