1st XI continue to dominate the league

Despite the cold windy start to the day, the Sutton Valance squad arrived early and eager to continue their unbeaten streak at the top of the table.

The game began with the rain lashing down from above and the visiting Tunbridge Wells 3rd XI team, with a mixture of youth and experience, began strongly challenging the Sutton Valance defence with good ball speed and skilful youngsters. However, the Sutton Valance men managed to take one of the few opportunities they had in the opening stanza with a goal from Alex Stamp. A short time later Sutton Valance doubled their lead with a well worked goal, starting with a counter attack down the right hand side of the field and a good ball across the face of goal from Brett Angel, executed by a clean strike from the in-form Andy Turnill.

The rain returned with avengeance at the beginning of the 2nd half. Despite this, Sutton Valence began the half brightly with a third goal, again from Andy Turnill.

The Tunbridge Wells team continued to fight through the 2nd half moving the ball well around the pitch. However they were unable to convert their chances and forced a few saves from Mark Whitmill in the Sutton Valence goal.

Alex Stamp finished the game off with another two goals to complete his hattrick, cementing his place in the team following his recent return from injury.

The match finished 5 - 0 to the home side, with a +51 goal difference at the top of the league.
