With our win over Gillingham Anchorians, Standing outside the Queen’s Head , looking over the Weald of Kent our thoughts turned to the club down the hill !! . As match day loomed it was apparent that a full squad with subs was not on the cards , so 11 Brave souls entered the lion’s den, not knowing what to expect, the game started off as we meant to go on, lots of good movement of the ball and great interceptions in the midfield, to say we had our chances was an understatement, several attempts fell short, then Marden had a breakaway and it all got very messy in the (D) result a penalty flick. With a blow of the whistle and an unfortunate ricochet of the Keeper’s Helmet Marden was 1nil up !! , the team brushed itself down and pressed again, with fluid passes and constant pressure the opposition had little choice but to go defensive, it was to no use as our Captain Ben Tagett Scored as did Chris Stille, Marden tried a late push with several chances amounting to nothing but disappointment the final whistle blew score 2-1 to Sutton Valance, a special mention should go to Zak Blanchard for his solid performance at the back and to Alex Sandburg for all the opportunities he opened up on the Right side
