Sutton Valence continued their unbeaten run this season with a well-fought 3-1 victory over BBHC at Sutton Valence School. The home side started strong, but BBHC’s goalkeeper made several crucial saves in the early stages. Sutton Valence found their breakthrough in the 32nd minute when Andy Turnill slotted home following clever link-up play from Brett Angel and Fred McVarish.
The home team went into halftime 1-0 up, but BBHC's resilient defence and solid midfield pressure kept the game tightly contested. Sutton Valence's defence, led by Henry Robinson and the in-form Chris Back, remained composed under BBHC's pressing attacks.
In the second half, Sutton Valence's attacking prowess showed. On 52 minutes, Angus McVarish netted from a perfectly timed pass by his brother Fred McVarish, doubling the lead. BBHC responded quickly, pulling one back in the 56th minute, exposing a rare lapse in the home side's defence.
However, Sutton Valence sealed the game in the 64th minute when Ali Carter finished off a clinical counter-attack, sending the crowd into celebration. BBHC's frustration boiled over to their detriment in the latter stages as they failed to deliver the incisiveness showed in previous games.
Man of the Match Luksich was instrumental in defence, while Chris Johnson earned Dick of the Day after an unfortunate open-goal miss.
