

After a slow start to the morning with many of the Sutton Valence players arriving late to warm up, they switched gears early on in the match. Ted finished a well worked goal straight from the Sutton Valence push back.
Sutton Valence then capitalised on a defensive lapse, moving the ball sharply and with Stamp finishing another team move to take control of the contest, putting Sutton Valence up 2 - 0 after 10 mins.
Sutton Valence managed to retain control late in the 1st half , through clean passing around the back and with well worked moves down the right earned themselves a short corner near the half time Whistle. After the drag flick deflected off the keeper's pads , Josh recovered the ball and managed to only find the defender's foot on the line . Ali stepped up and slotted the p flick home .
The second half started off evenly with most of the chances falling the way of old Wils, with an increasing number of counterattacks ending in a number of short corners for Old Wils. Sutton Valence defense seemed to be holding strong for now
Sutton Valence put the result beyond doubt with training ground moves that avoided the traffic and moved the ball swiftly into space finding Stampy and Barney to make the score line 4-0 and then 5-0 with 10 min remaining .
Old Wils scored a late consolation goal with a drag flick that was buried into the top corner after a well worked routine from old Wils .
When the Man of the Match and Coach Carter was asked for comment he had this to say," We produced a calm and clinical performance throughout the 70 mins of hockey at the mighty Sutton Valance fortress to extend our unbeaten run in 2026 to 6 games. It was also great to have Max back from Maternity leave to solidify the defence".
