Victory for Sutton Valence makes it three wins from three and sees them move top of the League above Old Williamsons on points difference.
The village side travelled to the King Henry School ground looking to build on their confident start to the season. The McVarishs’ unavailability was offset by Andy Turnill and Chris Back both making their first League appearances of the season.
After a settling-in 10 minutes which saw the home side force two stops from keeper Stewart Young and a short corner line save from Chris Back on the post, Sutton Valence took control and put BBHC to the sword. Speed going forwards and slick, pin-point passing culminated in two scores from short corners bifurcated by a classic Turnill finish. Jack Davies claimed the first short, deflecting the ball in from Kevin Kirkham and James Stanford drag flicked beyond the reaches of the home keeper. As the home team were looking to regain grip on a game that was slipping beyond salvation, the visitors put it out of reach. Further first half goals from Kevin Kirkham, Rob Bray and Andy Turnill took the deficit to six at the turn.
If the home team were hoping for a respite in the second-half they were disappointed. Sutton Valence maintained the tempo and snuffled out any BBHC possession in the midfield. Lewis Mitchell, Chris Back and Brett Angel added their names to the score sheet, although Angel’s input was to ferry Russell Blanchard”s shot over the line. Man of the match Andy Turnill doubled his first half brace taking his personal tally to four.
BBHC rallied late on and scored a conciliatory goal from a rebounded save giving their supporters something to cheer about and lift their dampened spirits and bodies.
