The game started with both teams performing equally on the pitch. Herne Bay put the pressure on Sutton Valence and scored a goal half way through the first half.
After the Herne Bay goal, Valence found themselves playing in the oppositions half quite a bit. Opportunities were there for Valence, but Herne Bay’s defence and the goal keeper’s skill prevented multiple goals.
A penalty flick taken by Tom Willson very nearly equalled the score, but it unfortunately bounced off the left post.
As the first half was coming to an end, Tom Bartlett managed to score a goal for Valence, and both teams entered the second half on 1-1.
Sutton Valence came out in the second half strong, seeing four more goals scored. Another goal scored from Tom Bartlett, Two goals from Rob Cockayne and one goal from Ben Traggett.
In the last 10 minutes of the game, Herne Bay managed to score one last goal, making the score 5-2.
In the last few minutes of the game during a Valence defensive short corner. Charlie Tucker was too eager to run, and stepped out too early. After some confusion in the D, and back and forth shuttle runs from Charlie, Herne Bay were unsuccessful with the attack, leaving the end game score 5-2 to Sutton Valence.
