Frustrating game for Sutton Valence 3rd XI

Sutton Valence 3rd XI travelled away for an unseasonably warm clash against Folkestone Optimist 7th XI.

Sutton Valence conceded an early goal, well worked by Folkestone and executed by one of their younger players who has really stepped up and matured since last season.

Frustratingly, Folkestone extended their lead twice further in quick succession, as the Sutton Valence defence struggled to read the off-ball movements of the Folkestone attackers.

Sutton Valence made attacks but were kept at bay by the Folkestone defence.

The second half saw Sutton Valence pull back a goal following a short corner strike from Rob
Harrison, deflected unto the top of the goal.

Folkestone pulled away further with a fourth goal to end the game 4-1.

Despite the result, a well-mannered and gentlemanly game, with superb umpiring.
