Sutton Valence 3rd XI v Sevenoaks 8’s
Sutton Valence welcomed Sevenoaks on a brisk October Afternoon.
The match started in high spirit with both teams playing a high tempo with both defence’s having to work hard to keep the other at bay. The match continued in this manner for most of first half, with end to end play.
Sutton Valence had a few chance’s at goal that regrettably went just wide of the post. Sevenoaks keeper was on top form keeping a barrage of shots out. Sevenoaks took the lead shortly before the break with a short corner that was played to the top of the D and fired towards goal taking a deflection on the way though to place it just past Sutton Valence keeper and defence.
Half-time talk was encouraging with messages of keeping your heads up and play the quick simple pass to stick and we can win this. With the second half in full swing, Sutton Valance turned up the pressure with quick passes and darting runs though the pitch to keep Sevenoaks on their toes. Sevenoak Keeper continued to stay strong and maintain to keep our strikers at bay. Midfield worked well thoughout the second half with Archer Ripley, Andrew lee and Stuart Edmed stringing passes collectively to keep the ball.
Sevenoaks had a few chance’s in the second half with the defensive combination of Andy McVarish,John Edmed and Zak Blanchard tidying up at the back and keeping the Sevenoaks’s attack out. Match ended 0-1 to Sevenoak.
