Match Report vs Folkestone (Home) – Senior – 14:30
On a crisp afternoon at home, the side welcomed second-placed Folkestone for a 14:30 pushback in what promised to be a tough Senior fixture. With conditions set for a fast-paced encounter, the team rose to the occasion with a disciplined and energetic performance from the very start.
A commanding and composed display saw the home side secure an impressive 3–0 victory in a match full of energy, discipline, and quality.
From the opening whistle, the team set the tone with high intensity and sharp movement, refusing to allow Folkestone any rhythm. The defensive unit was outstanding throughout, with John Edmed putting in a superb display at the heart of the defence. Alongside him, Olly Sheldon and Nick Hall were rock solid, dealing confidently with every attack and ensuring the backline remained organised and difficult to break down.
Behind them, Ross Mackay had an assured game in goal, commanding his area well and making key interventions when called upon to preserve the clean sheet.
The breakthrough came with a moment of individual brilliance. Alex Stanford opened the scoring with a wonderful strike from the top of the D, firing across goal while off balance—an effort that gave the keeper no chance and lifted the whole side.
The second goal was a product of excellent teamwork. A slick, well-worked move around the D saw Seb O’Leary finish confidently, capping off a flowing attacking passage that highlighted the team’s cohesion and composure in the final third.
With Folkestone pushing forward in search of a way back into the game, the home side remained disciplined and dangerous on the counter. The third goal came from sustained pressure, as Duncan Wills drove a powerful shot that forced a save, only for Ducan Field to react quickest and slot home the rebound, sealing the victory.
It was a complete team performance—clinical in front of goal, dominant in defence, and full of determination throughout. A fantastic result against strong opposition and a statement win.
