Sutton Valence Ladies produced a determined performance against Gillingham Anchorians 4s, with plenty of attacking play and goals from both sides.

The game began with Sutton Valence looking confident and composed, moving the ball well and making strong passing and good movement across the pitch. Their positive start quickly paid off when Maddie W found the back of the goal in the early minutes of the first half, giving Sutton Valence an early 1–0 lead.

Gillingham Anchorians responded well to the early setback, gradually building momentum and applying pressure in Sutton Valence’s half. Their efforts were rewarded with two well-taken goals before half time, turning the scoreline around and putting them ahead 2–1. The half-time whistle soon followed, leaving Gillingham leading by 2-1.

The second half began with both teams coming out looking strong and determined to take control of the match. Sutton Valence continued to press forward, and a beautifully timed pass into the D found Maddie once again, who calmly finished to bring the score level at 2–2.

The game remained highly competitive, but Gillingham soon regained the lead with another goal, making it 3–2. Sutton Valence refused to back down and continued to fight for an equaliser. Their persistence paid off in the later minutes of the second half when Isla H scored a lovely goal, bringing the score to 3–3 and setting up a tense final period of play.

In the closing stages, Gillingham began to increase the pace and technical intensity of the game. Their attacking pressure eventually broke through Sutton Valence’s defence, allowing them to score two further goals and extend their lead to 5–3.

Sutton Valence pushed hard to respond in the final moments, showing great determination and teamwork, but the full-time whistle was blown before they could close the gap.

Despite the final score of 5–3 to Gillingham, Sutton Valence delivered a spirited performance with strong attacking play and excellent teamwork throughout the match.
