Sutton Valence welcomed Maidstone for what proved to be a competitive fixture, with both teams starting strongly and showing some excellent passing play.
Early pressure from Maidstone tested the Sutton Valence defence, but the back line and goalkeeper stood firm, repelling wave after wave of attacks with determined and disciplined defending. Despite this resilience, Maidstone eventually broke the deadlock from a well-worked short corner, finished with a drag flick from the top of the D. A second goal followed shortly before the halftime whistle.
The second half brought continued pressure on the Sutton Valence defence, which again responded with strong, committed defending throughout. Unfortunately, Maidstone managed to find the net four more times before full time.
While the final scoreline was harsh, it does not reflect what was a strong and spirited team performance from Sutton Valence. Special mention goes to Oscar Turnill, who made his senior debut and delivered an impressive and confident performance.
