

Sutton Valence travelled to Ramsgate to face Cliftonville, with the hosts setting the tempo early. Cliftonville opened the scoring inside the first two minutes with a well-worked goal.
Sutton Valence continued to fight, but on the 10-minute mark Cliftonville doubled their lead. A strong through ball split the midfield and defence, allowing the home side to finish clinically.
The 25th minute brought a third goal for Cliftonville following a goalmouth scramble. The Sutton Valence goalkeeper did well to save the initial shot and the rebound, but the third attempt was converted.
Sutton Valence responded positively, and shortly after Cliftonville’s third goal, Rob Cockayne pulled one back with a lovely worked finish that wrong-footed the keeper. The score stood at 3–1 at half-time, with Sutton Valence still determined to get something from the fixture.
The second half saw a well-worked Sutton Valence move result in another goal. Matthew Lemmon made a darting run to the post and calmly placed the ball over the line.
Sutton Valence then put in a dominant spell, with both the goalkeeper and outfield players putting in a real shift. Unfortunately, it was not Sutton Valence’s day, as Cliftonville scored in the 40th and 50th minutes to see out the game.
Despite the result, Sutton Valence’s young players showed great strength, resilience, and character throughout.
