Sutton Valence vs K Sport — Match Report
Sutton Valence welcomed K Sport on a bright but cold day, with both sides starting the match positively and showing good early play.
Sutton Valence initially looked the stronger team, moving the ball well with some neatly worked passing moves. However, K Sport’s defence and goalkeeper worked hard to keep them in the contest during the opening stages.
As the half progressed, K Sport began to grow into the game and pushed play into the Sutton Valence half, earning a short corner. The resulting effort was saved, but the ball was not fully cleared and, following a moment of confusion in the defence, K Sport capitalised to score the opening goal.
Sutton Valence responded well. On the 15-minute mark, William Turnill scored the equaliser — his first senior goal — reacting quickly at the post to guide the ball home with a well-placed finish. Just ten minutes later, Turnill struck again, showing determination in a physical battle before slotting the ball past the keeper to give Sutton Valence the lead. The home side went into the break firmly on the front foot.
The second half began much like the first ended, with Sutton Valence applying sustained pressure through slick passing and confident dribbling. K Sport created a few attacking moments, but a reshuffled Sutton Valence defence stood strong. Steve Vanns, Bob Sagrott, Alec Kennet, Rob Cockayne, and Julian Mills — players not usually deployed at the back — worked tirelessly to block attacks and keep K Sport at bay.
With five minutes remaining, Ryan Page calmly finished to extend Sutton Valence’s advantage to 3–1. Shortly afterwards, Matthew Lemmon added a fourth goal, putting the result beyond doubt and sealing an impressive team performance
